We collect anonymous usage analytics and send error reports automatically. If you use AI features, your text goes directly to your chosen AI provider—never through us. We don't know who you are, and we never sell your data.
What we collect
Anonymous usage analytics—things like which features you use, session length, and device type. We also collect anonymous session recordings of UI interactions (your editor text is masked by default) and automatic error reports. We use PostHog for all of this. No names, emails, or login info.
Why we collect it
Analytics help us understand usage, fix bugs, and improve the app. Email is used only to send you beta access, updates, and respond to feedback. No ads or profiling.
Who can see it
Analytics go to PostHog only—anonymized and not linked to you. If you use AI features, your text goes directly to your chosen provider (OpenAI, Anthropic, or Google)—we never see it. Dictionary lookups are sent to an external dictionary service. We don't sell or share data with third parties for their own use.
Your rights
Since we don't collect personal data, there's no profile to delete. On the website, opt out via the Cookie Settings link in the footer. In the desktop app, disable analytics via the toggle in Settings > Privacy > "Usage analytics". California residents have additional rights under the CCPA.
Cookies
PostHog assigns a random identifier to track usage behavior. On the website, this only persists if you accept cookies: if you decline, no identifier is stored. In the desktop app, the identifier persists for the lifetime of your install. Either way, it contains no personal information and cannot be linked back to you. No marketing or tracking cookies are used.
